Station 4 Stanta - 12/23/2005

Santa came to League City Vol. Fire Department Station 4 for a surprise visit Thursday the December 22nd. With the Christmas lights on the side of the building it was easy for Santa and his reindeer to land on the roof. Santa knew the children would come out in droves, and that is exactly what they did. The line kept getting longer and longer to visit with “the big guy” (aka Santa). All ages came out to see Santa from infants, to those that are young at heart. If I knew then what I know now, I would have invested in apple Ipods, for that seems to be a hot item. As you can see from the pictures, we all had fun. Every one had a joyous time eating cookies and drinking hot wassail. A spirit of community and family fun seemed to fill the air in the fire house. Parents snapped pictures to treasure the visit and those that didn't have camera pictures were emailed to them. With all the material request for Christmas gifts, there was one request that brought a tear to Santa’s eye. A small girl, age eleven, asked for her friends to be nice to her at school and nothing more. This was very important to Santa and proved to a lot of us as adults that some gifts just do not come wrapped in paper and bows. Christmas means giving unconditional love and acceptance to our fellow neighbors, friends, and family. A lot of lesson were learned and many more to follow, we look forward to next year when “Santa comes to visit’s us again”. Before you knew it Santa was on his way back north.
