NOTICE…. Next Academy Class Is Scheduled To Begin January 9, 2008

Welcome to the League City Volunteer Fire Department Recruiting web page. The department is very excited that you are interested in joining this great organization and we want to answer all of your questions. League City Volunteer Fire Department is comprised of individuals from all types of backgrounds ranging from NASA Engineers, Business Owners, Plant Workers, stay at home parents, college students and many more from our community. We depend on this diversity to keep our department running and to bring in fresh ideas.

The next academy is scheduled to start January 9, 2008. Classes will be held twice a week from 7pm-9pm and every other Saturday 8am-5pm. Instructors will be a combination of the Officers and certified instructors within the department. Most of your hands on classes will be at the training field located on North Kansas in League City. Classes will also be held at one of the five fire stations across town. We have classes at one of the five fire stations across town to give you idea where the fire stations are located. If you have a Texas Basic Certification you do not have to take the academy class, all you have to take is 17 hours of Department Orientation Training.

In order to join the department we require the following: a background check, that you pass a physical, complete an interview and attend the academy. The interview process will help explain what is needed of you and give you a chance to ask what you can expect from the department. At LCVFD our main responsibilities are fire fighting, rescue, and non hazardous Haz-mat scenes for the City of League City. We are separate entity from the Emergency Medical Service of League City and you are not required to become an EMT. If you would like and application one can be mailed to you or you can download one from the link below. After you complete the application you can mail it to P.O. Box 931, League City, Texas, 77574-0931.
